For Military Members (Renters)

How do I search for crash pads?

Use the search function on the homepage to enter your TDY location and dates. You can filter results by amenities, rental type (whole house vs. rooms), and other preferences.

Do I need to create an account?

You can browse properties without an account, but you'll need to sign up (free) to contact property managers and save your preferences.

How do I contact a property manager?

Click "Inquire" on any property listing. Your profile information (TDY dates, location, contact details) will be shared with the manager, and you can start a conversation through our messaging system.

Is my information secure?

Yes. Your personal information is only shared with property managers when you initiate contact. We use industry-standard encryption and security measures. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Are payments handled through the platform?

No. DOD Crash Pads is a discovery and communication platform. All rental agreements, payments, and terms are arranged directly between you and the property manager.

What if I have an issue with a property?

Address concerns directly with the property manager first. If you experience fraud, discrimination, or serious issues, contact us at support@dodcrashpads.com and we will investigate.

For Property Managers

How do I list my crash pad?

Create a manager account, complete your company profile, and click "Create Property" to add your first listing. Include high-quality photos, accurate amenity information, and clear rental terms.

Is there a fee to list properties?

Currently, listing properties on DOD Crash Pads is free. We may introduce premium features in the future, but basic listings will remain free.

How do renters contact me?

When a military member is interested in your property, they'll send an inquiry through the platform. You'll receive their profile information and can communicate through our messaging system. Your contact details (phone, email, website) are also visible on your property listing.

Can I feature my property?

Yes! Contact us at support@dodcrashpads.com to inquire about featuring your property on the homepage and in search results.

How do I update my listing?

Log in to your manager account, go to "Manage Properties," and click "Edit" on any listing. Changes are saved automatically as you update information.

What are my legal responsibilities?

As a property manager, you must comply with all applicable housing laws, fair housing regulations, and local rental ordinances. You are responsible for maintaining safe, habitable properties and honoring rental agreements. See our Terms of Service for full details.

Technical Support

I can't log in to my account

Try resetting your password using the "Forgot Password" link on the sign-in page. If you continue to have issues, contact tech@dodcrashpads.com with your account email address.

Photos won't upload

Ensure your images are in JPG, PNG, or WebP format and under 2MB each. Clear your browser cache and try again. If problems persist, contact technical support.

The map isn't showing properties

Make sure you've entered both a destination and date range in your search. Check that your browser allows location services and JavaScript. Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache.

I'm not receiving inquiry notifications

Check your email spam/junk folder. Verify that your contact email is correct in your profile settings. If using Gmail, check your "Promotions" or "Updates" tabs.

Account Management

Update Your Profile

Renters: Profile page → Edit information → Changes save automatically
Managers: Crashpad Company Profile → Update details → Save

Delete Your Account

To delete your account and all associated data, email support@dodcrashpads.com with your account email address and "Delete Account" in the subject line. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Change Your Password

Use the "Forgot Password" link on the sign-in page to reset your password via email.
